The Experience
A distinctly 1980s solid-state pinball experience built around straightforward objectives, fast ball movement and a memorable military-themed presentation. Raven combines a single ramp, spinner, four pop bumpers, kickback and a motorized helicopter with spinning blades in a layout that emphasizes traditional shot-making rather than the complex modes and multiballs of modern machines.
Why Players Like It
Raven stands out for its unmistakable 1980s personality, unusual theme and straightforward gameplay. The helicopter feature, ramp shot, active pop-bumper area and alphanumeric presentation give it the mechanical character of its era, making it an interesting choice for players who enjoy classic solid-state machines and games that can be understood quickly.
Know Before You Buy
Raven is a Gottlieb System 80B machine from 1986, so ownership is different from buying a modern pinball machine. Condition of the electronics, displays, playfield, cabinet and mechanical components can have a significant effect on value and ownership experience. Buyers should evaluate the history and condition of the individual machine rather than relying on age or title alone. Modified artwork or lighting should also be distinguished from factory-original components.
Best For
Collectors of 1980s solid-state pinball, buyers who enjoy straightforward classic gameplay, Gottlieb enthusiasts, and game rooms looking for a distinctive vintage machine with strong period character and an unusual military-themed presentation.
Market Perspective
Raven trades less frequently than many modern pinball machines, making individual condition especially important when comparing examples. Originality, electronics, playfield and cabinet condition, restoration work and modifications can all influence value. 1st Generation Gamers reviews recent marketplace activity and comparable machines when evaluating each example we offer.
