The Experience
Classic early solid-state pinball with straightforward objectives, drop targets and fast, traditional shot-making. Buck Rogers combines eight drop targets, a captive ball, two pop bumpers and a kickback in a compact Gottlieb System 1 layout that captures the direct, score-focused style of pinball at the beginning of the 1980s.
Why Players Like It
Buck Rogers appeals through its classic Gottlieb gameplay, colorful science-fiction artwork and straightforward objectives. The bank of drop targets and captive-ball area provide clear shots to pursue, while the licensed Buck Rogers theme and distinctive Gordon Morison artwork give the machine strong late-1970s and early-1980s arcade character.
Know Before You Buy
Buck Rogers is a Gottlieb System 1 machine from 1980, so condition of the electronics, displays, connectors, playfield and mechanical components is especially important when evaluating an individual example. Replacement control boards are common upgrades in machines from this era and should be identified when present. Buyers should evaluate the condition and service history of the individual machine rather than relying on age or title alone.
Best For
Fans of classic science fiction, collectors of early solid-state pinball, Gottlieb enthusiasts, and buyers looking for straightforward vintage gameplay with recognizable period artwork and traditional drop-target objectives.
Market Perspective
Buck Rogers trades less frequently than many modern pinball machines, making individual condition especially important when comparing examples. Electronics, display condition, playfield wear, cabinet condition, originality and replacement components can all influence value. 1st Generation Gamers reviews recent marketplace activity and comparable machines when evaluating each example we offer.
